Why Hello, 2015

Happy New Year!

We headed up north for New Year’s Eve. I picked up my friend a little too early so we ended up spending a lot of time at the beach before the others arrived. We got there around 14:00 and decided that since we had nothing to do other than wait for our other friends, we might as well go on a little discovery adventure together. We spotted a little cliff on the other side of the beach and ambitiously decided to go to the very top to see what it looked like. It took us a lot of struggling in the sand and ended up with sore ankles but we finally climbed up the hill and the 360 degree view of the water and land was amazing. We sat there for a long while and took in the view. The sea breeze was blowing against our sunburnt skin and cast a bright halo over the ocean. The far away land had a little misty haze that had little golden sparkles in it. The water continued to glisten under the sinking sun but the wind became cooler as the night arrived. We sat on the beach with our other friends and waited for the fireworks as we chatted.

Crowds began to form when darkness had taken over and night lights flashed amidst the warm conversations and jolly laughter of families and friends. The fireworks were magnificent but I shivered so much from the cold I paid little attention to the blasts and colours in the sky. We then headed over to my friend’s house for a countdown where we played card/video games and set up the television 10 minutes prior to the countdown with our little party poppers in our hands. The clock hit 00:00 and we all hugged and went back to our games. It was a great day with lots of shared happiness and I can only imagine how fun your days have been, too! I wish you all a very jolly and brilliant 2015! I hope you all find your own happy place this year and achieve whatever your heart tells you to. Be fearless and live for yourself. Stay gold!
